Treasures from the GAIA Foundation and the Museum’s Permanent Collection

Treasures from the GAIA Foundation and the Museum’s Permanent Collection

On exhibition through September 28, 2025

In the History Gallery: Works by Matisse, Pissarro, Picasso, Chagall and other fine artists on long-term loan to the Museum from The Global Academy for Inspirational Arts Foundation plus artwork, artifacts and objects from the Museum’s Permanent Collection.

From the Foundation

“The Global Academy for Inspirational Arts is a nonprofit foundation that educates, inspires and empowers individuals through art, music and cultural enrichment.

We are dedicated to organizations exactly like the Napa Valley Museum, who invest in their community’s enrichment by providing them with the experience of Fine Art.

Creative activities improve learning and offer health benefits. Art and music help people relax, express emotions, reduce stress, and boost well-being. This is especially important for young people facing life’s challenges. GAIA provides a welcoming space for education, connection, and personal growth for all ages.”

From the Napa Valley Museum

The Museum’s Permanent Collection contains over 15,000 objects, artifacts and artworks evidencing the region’s culture, history and geology. Some of these objects are on permanent display in the Museum’s History Gallery exhibition: “Land & People of the Napa Valley,” but others are rarely seen. View a rotating sample of seldom-seen treasures selected from the Collections Department.
